first_imgAddThis Share Tipsheet PRESERVATION OF MALI ARTIFACTS TOPIC OF MAY MEETING The Mali government is expected to ask the United States, through the new U.S. ambassador to that country David Rawson, to implement a ban on the import of valuable Mali artifacts during a ceremony in that African country in May. Rice University anthropology professor Rod McIntosh will attend the event on May 14 to discuss his and his wife’s (Susan McIntosh, also a Riceprofessor) preservation efforts in Mali for more than two decades.The McIntosh’s work has been featured in National Geographic, as well as on a number of television programs.
